Our fees

Cost is one of the first things anyone weighs up before committing to something important, and financial advice should be no different. We’d rather you understood exactly what you’re paying for, and why, than be left guessing – so here’s a plain English breakdown of how we charge, with no hidden extras.

Step 1

Getting to know you

How we charge: We don’t.

Your first step with us is an initial consultation with one of our qualified financial planners. It’s a chance to ask us anything you like, understand what we do, and tell us what help you’re looking for – and for us to explain our charges clearly, before anything is agreed. There’s no cost and no obligation attached to this meeting.

Step 2

Understanding your circumstances

How we charge: We don’t.

If you’d like to go further, we’ll carry out a full review of your financial circumstances, your goals, and your attitude to risk, before putting together our recommendations. We’ll then arrange a second meeting to talk you through what we’ve found, and what we suggest you do next – again, free of charge, and with no obligation to proceed.

Step 3

Putting your plan into action

How we charge: A percentage of the amount invested.

If you choose to go ahead with our recommendations, our fee for arranging and implementing your plan is 2% of the value of any lump sum investment or transfer. For regular contribution plans, such as a monthly pension or savings contribution, our fee is 50% of your first year’s contributions.

What this looks like in practice:

Lump sum or transfer:
  • £25,000 invested = £500 fee
  • £100,000 invested = £2,000 fee
  • £300,000 invested = £6,000 fee
Regular contributions:
  • £100 a month = £600 fee
  • £175 a month = £1,050 fee
  • £250 a month = £1,500 fee

For regular contributions, you can either pay this fee upfront, or spread it across your first year, taken proportionally from each contribution as it’s made. If your contributions stop before the full fee has been collected, we’ll simply invoice you for whatever’s still outstanding.

Step 4

Ongoing support

How we charge: A percentage of the amount we manage for you, each year.

Life doesn’t stand still, and neither should your plan. If you’d like us to keep a continual eye on things, our ongoing service fee is 1% per year on the first £200,000 we manage for you, reducing to 0.75% on anything above that.

What this looks like in practice:
  • £10,000 under management = £100 a year
  • £100,000 under management = £1,000 a year
  • £300,000 under management = £2,250 a year

Please note: the tier for the ongoing advice is set on original investment. Therefore, if the investment changes tier, the charge is not changed.

If you’d rather not take up ongoing support, that’s entirely your choice. You’ll pay nothing further once your plan is implemented, though it does mean the regular reviews, rebalancing, and support described below won’t be part of your service.

What’s included

Everyone who works with us, whether for a one-off piece of advice or ongoing support, gets the same thorough start: a proper consultation, research-backed advice, a clear written report, and full support implementing it.

If you choose ongoing support, you’ll also get:
  • A dedicated point of contact you can talk to whenever you need to
  • An annual statement showing exactly where things stand
  • A full annual review of your plan and objectives
  • Rebalancing to keep your portfolio in line with your risk profile
  • Ongoing tax planning to help you make the most of available allowances
  • A quarterly newsletter on what’s happening in the markets
  • Secure online access to your own policies and valuations, any time you like
  • Financial backing of any advice from a fully regulated business

No penalty for changing your mind

We don’t believe in locking you in, and you won’t find any exit charges or tie-in periods buried in the small print here. If you ever decide our ongoing service is no longer right for you, just let us know in writing, and we’ll bring it to a close within seven days. It’s your money, and it should always be your decision.

Protection and insurance advice

For life insurance, critical illness cover, and income protection, we don’t charge a fee at all. Instead, we’re paid commission directly by the provider once a policy is arranged, so advice in this area costs you nothing out of pocket.

The value of good advice

Fees matter, and we’ve set out exactly where ours go so you can judge them for yourself. But the real value of working with us isn’t just the number on the invoice – it’s the confidence and reassurance working with a financial adviser can bring. According to a 2025 study by Aviva, 88% of people say financial advice gives them greater peace of mind. That’s what we aim to deliver, every time.

Our services are not currently subject to VAT. Should this change, we’ll let you know before carrying out any further work.
